Fanfiction of the month- August

Hello all! So next month is going to be the very first fanfiction of the month competition. It's a bit of an experiment so hopefully it will work and if not I will try to fix it for next time.

How it's going to work is...

• I will make a list of all the fics that have been published on the archive in August. This will only include fics that have actually been started in August, not multi-chapter ones that have been started previously and are ongoing.
• If a writer publishes more than one fic in August I will ask them to choose one to go on a shortlist (so people aren't favoured for the quantity of stories over the quality)
• I will post the shortlist on here, and then you can select your chosen fic of the month from it.

I think that is fairly simple so we will give it a shot! Fingers crossed we can stop the metaphorical tumbleweed floating around the archive and liven it up a bit with some fantastic stories :)

1. Most dedicated fan- Laura (by an overwhelming majority, congratulations!)

2. Best newcomer to the fandom- Jenny (again by a huge majority, well done!)

3. Best veteran of the fandom- Gee, Jen (DSISandraPullman39) and Beth (very deserving joint winners in a very close category)

4. Potential best-selling author- Eden (thank you!)

5. Nicest person in the fandom- Gee (as I predicted! Another huge majority so very well done!)

8. Favourite writer overall- Eden (this is starting to look like I've doctored the results now, I promise I haven’t! It was an exceptionally close call between me, Laura, Beth and Gee so thank you everyone!)

9. Most original/imaginative fanfiction ideas- Gee (another overwhelming majority!)

10. Favourite fanfiction overall- ‘Changes’ by Jen and ‘Just This’ by Jessie Marsh are our joint winners overall but ‘Recipe for Disaster’ by i-must-go-first came an extremely close second place.

So there we go! You can probably tell by the amount of exclamation marks in this that I have really enjoyed organising these awards, so much so that I’m thinking of doing more if everyone is up for it, perhaps a ‘fic of the month’ award to liven up the archive a little? And of course I will do this again around the same time next year. If you have any ideas for more awards please let me know :)

Welcome to the New Tricks fandom awards!

Firstly, thank you all for agreeing to take part. Organising this is helping to cure my boredom and I really enjoy doing things like this so thanks, I really appreciate it J

So, basically, for each of the ten categories below, please send me the name of the person who you would like to nominate and the corresponding number.
