October's winner revealed...and an announcement

Thank you to the people who voted, this month's winner is Shout by smilelikey0umeanit.

In other news, I've made the decision to stop running this competition, basically because only a handful of people voted this time and I feel bad for nagging everyone when voting is about to close. So yeah, sorry. If there's ever the demand to start running it again then I will but stories are growing increasingly few and far between, as are votes, so it's probably best to take a break.

Thanks to everyone who has taken part in the previous competitions, I was surprised at the positive response and I hope I've been able to bring a little fun into the fandom.

(Also can I just take the opportunity to say, if you read a fanfiction and you enjoy it, please please please can you just take the time to review it? In a fandom as small as the New Tricks one, just a few kind words can really boost people's confidence in their writing and perhaps encourage them to share more wonderful stories with us all.)
